William Peace University Hosts Academic Summer Camps- Earn College Credit
William Peace University, a historic liberal arts institution located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, is pleased to offer six summer camp selections this year. There will be one camp offering June 18-21 and five July 16-19. Campers can expect to have an immersive, hands-on experience and earn one (1) college credit upon the completion of the camp. Represented fields include Biology (Ecology Research), Simulation and Game Design, Musical Theatre, Exercise and Sport Science and Mass Communication (Podcasting). Registration is now open! Tar Heel Boys State is the longest running Boys State program in the country. Our prestigious program teaches 250 of the top rising seniors in our state each summer about the working government of our state. Learn how to develop a working city government, participate in a working legislature ( House, Senate, Lobbyist). Write, debate, vote on bills, participate in a political party, build a platform of electing candidates, and attend a college fair with over 40 colleges represented.

Dates: June 17 - 23, 2018
Tuition: $400 ( covers room, meals, printed materials, guest speakers, staff and insurance)
Only rising senior boys, at least 16 year of age, should apply.

North Carolina Wesleyan is excited to invite you to be a part of the 8th annual General Hugh Shelton Leadership Challenge! The Shelton Challenge is a six-day residential experience to help students expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be an effective leader. Offered to rising 9th grade to graduating seniors, hands-on activities focus on: personal leadership assessment and interpersonal dynamics, role of values and ethics in leadership, leadership traits and approaches, empowering others, civic and social responsibility, and goal setting. Students also have the opportunity to participate in team building activities, low and high ropes courses, service project, and fun night activities to help students get to know others participating in the program.

Please complete the scholarship report form to aid us in reporting all scholarships our students receive to WCPSS. Include all scholarships and monetary awards you have been offered, even if you will not accept the offer. Financial aid should not be reported. Copies of the awards letters are required for a form to be completely processed. Scholarship recipients will be announced (pending student approval) during the Senior Assembly in the spring.
Scholarship letters and form are due to Student Services by May 1, 2018.
Good news from Duke Summer Session! We are happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for our life-changing summer programs at Duke University. Whichever program you choose, over the course of the summer, you will find that Duke Summer Session is committed not only to building lifelong memories and friendships from around the world, but to laying the foundation for a future of collegiate success. It is for this reason that students regularly report that our programs strengthened their college application and paved the way for academic excellence at top universities. Summer College Application – A four-week, credit-bearing program for US students currently in 10th or 11th grade and international students currently in 10th – 12th grade in which they take undergraduate-level courses.
Summer Academy Application – A three-week program for students currently in 9th – 12th grade in which they take a certificate course.
Intensive STEM Academy Application – A one-week, STEM-based program for students currently in 9th – 12th grade that consists of a variety of laboratory tours, faculty lectures, and workshops.
Duke's STAR program provides a high-quality research experience for undergraduate students, high school students and high school teachers during the summer academic break. Participants are placed in teams and matched with Duke faculty mentors to work on an original, hypotheses-driven project, progressing through draft figures and tables, an abstract, a PowerPoint presentation, and a written thesis.
Where: The program takes place at the Duke Clinical Research Institute , which is a clinical research organization that is an integral part of Duke University. The DCRI is located at 300 W. Morgan St., Durham, NC 27701.
