The Youth Energy Academy is hosted by the North Carolina (N.C.) Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE). The N.C. Chapter of the AABE is excited to host the one-day event from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C., on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017.
The N.C. Chapter of the AABE Youth Energy Academy: Powering a Bright Future focuses on providing hands-on activities for high school students (grades 9-12) to increase their knowledge about the energy industry and new technology. Students will learn about careers, jobs and occupational training requirements for different segments of the energy industry. Students will also learn the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as they pursue their college education and future careers. In addition, students will have the opportunity to win prizes and each student will receive a certificate of completion. Select this link to register for this year’s academy.
